The Design Team
The design team is headed by Ed Wingate, who joined Compass Tenders in 2008. A full set of manufacturing drawings is then produced for every element onboard, and the process is concluded with intensive on the water sea trials and testing.
The design team’s close cooperation with the production department and head of operations, ensures that all details and procedures are correctly executed and monitored throughout the build.
Collaboration between the design team and the highly skilled construction team results in innovative solutions and a finite attention to detail, whilst sensibly pushing the boundaries of design.
The team execute full exterior styling, cutting edge composite engineering, mechanical innovation, interior design, and the ongoing development of our product for our client’s ultimate satisfaction.
Compass Tenders have a longstanding collaboration with AllSeas Design, an independent marine design company formed by Patrick Banfield and Jim Wilshire, who created many of the hull designs and full tender build projects for the earlier Compass Tenders. This relationship continues today, developing hull forms and the naval architecture of Compass-designed tenders to achieve the greatest performance, efficiency, and pleasant seakeeping motion in a variety of sea states.
The design team at Compass Tenders has successfully collaborated with most of the leading superyacht design offices, creating custom tenders that pair perfectly with their motherships.
